Queen of Licorice is a beauty brand started by Elisabeth Johansson, Elisabeth is an expert on the medicinal plant Licorice Glycyrrhiza Glabra. After many years of studying the active elements of Licorice as a medicinal plant, she 
has now designed a unique line of Licorice spa products. Elisabeth has collaborated with herbal therapist Lisen Sundgren, who have been instrumental in the development of the products. Both formerly employed at Rosendal’s Garden, they have experience with all things ecological.

Licorice is used both in Hamams (Turkish baths) in
the Middle-east, and in the ancient Indian art of healing, Ayurveda, in which it goes by the Sanskrit name Yashtimadu. In Asia, Licorice is primarily used as medicine and is common in both internal and external treatment. It is used in hand creams and other external medicines for treatment of inflammatory afflictions, among other things. In the Nordics, Licorice as a medicine is mostly found as ingredient and aroma for cough drops.
